Nettops, Thin clients, Zero clients, and Web clients

Businesses are frequently turning to alternatives to standard desktop computers. Nettops, thin clients, and zero clients, don't have all of the functionality of a standard computer.

Nettops - or mini-PCs are cheaper and use less power than standard PCs. These are specifically designed for web browsing and document processing. They have low processing power.

Thin clients - are low performance computers designed to connect with a remote server.

Zero clients - are incapable of storing data locally. These devices will be configured to work with one protocol to connect to a server, whereas a thin client can connect with multiple protocol.

Web clients - these devices can only be used to access the web, similar to Chromebooks - but they actually do run some applications.

Optimize the Use of Office Printers

As the below schematic shows, PrinterLogic pinpoints the location of printers on a floorplan. Any printer can be installed simply by clicking on a printer icon.

Small icons will indicate which printers are capable of color printing. You'll no longer have to hunt around for the location of a back-up printer that you sent a job to.

If PrinterLogic's system is installed on your network you should see a printer icon with a white cross on a green field in your system tray. Clicking on this will bring up the portal.

Power for Laptops in the EU and the USA

If you buy a laptop in Europe, and plan to also use it later on back home in the United States keep in mind that you may need a converter. The American grid is set for 110 volts, whereas most European countries have a 220 volt system. Some laptops will come with dual power adapters that will work in both regions.
